How Accounts Gateway® works

Accounts Gateway® is a web API that sits between your accounting system and your other business applications. It provides a standardised interface through which your MRP, ERP, e-commerce platform, or custom software can push and pull financial data to and from your accounts package.

This architecture means your business systems do not need to know the internal workings of your accounting software. They communicate with Accounts Gateway® using a consistent set of API calls and the gateway handles the translation and data exchange with Sage, Xero, or Access Dimensions behind the scenes.

Do I need to use 123Insight to benefit from Accounts Gateway®?

No. While Accounts Gateway® is widely used alongside 123Insight and is their recommended accounting integration, the product can be used with any system that needs to exchange data with Sage, Xero or Access Dimensions.
