Last month we wrote about our products and services that we provide here at Solweb. One of those particular services is the integration of business systems, to allow automated data flow(s) from one to the other. Being a custom software development business, providing we are able to connect to the systems via an Application Programming Interface (API), we are able to customise the project to suit specific individual business requirements. The automated transfer of data, takes away the need for employee manual input, exporting of files and duplication of data entry, consequently saving time and any errors that us humans are prone to making!!
One of the specific areas of integration that we regularly complete is with accounting packages. We work with many different packages including Sage 50, Sage 200, Access Dimensions and Xero. With accounting being a crucial area of any business, the need for accuracy and comprehensive reporting is essential. Being an accredited Sage developer, based here in Dorset and recognised as a specialist integrator for other packages, Solweb have abundant experience when it comes to integrating systems with accounting packages. Working independently or with our business partners, we have integrated Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, e-commerce web sites (that we also develop) and a host of other systems with accounting packages to provide a seamless process of data transfer and comprehensive reporting.
Our Accounts Gateway product is a perfect example of this process. Positioned between either Sage 50, Sage 200, Access Dimensions or Xero and 123Insight (MRP system), Accounts Gateway enables multiple systems to talk and share data with each other without any manual user intervention or data entry. Information can be pushed between the two systems via a series of API calls, including the following:
- Retrieving and Creating Customers and Suppliers
- Sending over Sales Invoices and Credits to the destination Accounting System
- Sending over Purchase Invoices and Credits to the destination Accounting System
- Additional information can be gathered from the accounts system to be made available in the MRP/ERP system. This includes Customer Balances and Credit Limits, as well as Aged Debt and Outstanding Invoices.
