About the Company

GreenBest has been formulating bespoke fertiliser products since 1998 and operate from a 2-hectare site in Somerset in the South West of England, UK. They manufacture and distribute liquid fertiliser, granular fertiliser, soluble fertiliser, soil conditioners and other turf care related products. The products are in high demand for prestige turf and landscaping applications around the world and used in many of the top golf, football and sports venues. They have an established bespoke service with flexible options, a successful branded range and a product line aimed specifically at lawn care professionals. 90% of their customers tell them that their product quality is amongst the best in the world.

Requirements Overview

We were approached by GreenBest to discuss the development of an Online Customer Portal which would be required to be integrated with their MRP system, 123Insight. The portal was required to have several important functions. Firstly, customers would be able to log in and view live pricing for bespoke and off-the-shelf products. Secondly, customers would be able to place orders for these products through the portal. These orders would arrive directly into the 123Insight order book, thus saving the administration staff time and avoiding human error with inputting orders manually.

Solution

After an extensive investigative phase that consisted of many meetings and much research, we used our Databridge ® product to underpin the development and ensure that all required data was transferred to and from the website database. The resulting Online Customer Portal gave GreenBests’ customers the ability to log in to a secure website and access their data from 123, as well as being able to place orders and be able to view past order information. We completed the portal so that it remained consistent with the main site branding and ensured that it was set up using responsive design techniques, so customers were able to view the information regardless of which platform or device they were viewing on. Other important features included customisable product specifications, automatic transport cost calculations and the ability for customers to manage the portal access of their individual employees.

We also programmed the software to ensure that data would be updated within a five minute window and that a full sync would take place overnight to ensure that everything is always up to date and allow for any expired data to be removed from the website.

Outcome

After ongoing review, ultra responsive support and application of updates and new features, GreenBest have reported back to say that their system has never been “so tidy, up to date and easy to use” and that our work had enabled them to “take a massive step forward” in their company operations. There has been a huge reduction in the time taken to complete tasks and of course an excellent user experience for GreenBests’ customers.
